It all began in the late 80s, in our humble repair shop in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, that saw an accumulation of leaking charge air coolers coming in almost daily. With the realization that a lasting repair would not be possible, because of thermal expansion and contraction, we knew that a new design was needed. After extensive research, development, and testing, Dura-Lite^™ unveiled its revolutionary new charge air cooler, the New Generation^™, to the world.

This new charge air cooler, quickly recognized as the Ultimate Solution^™, eventually became known as Evolution®. It incorporated Silicone Grommets at the tube-to-header joint of the cooler and utilized oval tubing that had superior inner air deflection, which met or, in some cases, exceeded the original equipment specifications, while still having unmatched durability. This design, along with a streamlined in-house manufacturing process, an industry-leading warranty program, and a customer-first ethos is how Dura-Lite would make our mark as the new-standard in the trucking industry.
